We recommend, as a first step, that you fill out the Questionnaire so that we can send you information about the school, and keep you updated as changes might occur. Don't hesitate to be in touch--enrollment is growing!
- CSPT offers two other avenues for interested students! We are approved for NON-IMMIGRANT STUDENTS through SEVIS, and for VETERANS by way of the GI Bill through the Illinois State Approving Agency. Those who may qualify should contact us for more information regarding enrollment and application procedures. Non-immigrant students should also look at this page.

- For those of you interested in our graduates, the Graduates Page has been revised to allow you to more easily identify and locate our graduates.
- We are pleased to let you know that we are now members of Citizen Musician, a collaboration with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and many members of the musical community here and around the country. Please check out their web site at http://citizenmusician.org/.
- CSPT has recently made a revision to its Mission Statement which can be found on the home page of the web site and in all relevant publications. The School felt that the original mission as stated should be broadened to include and embrace the community in which it resides, nationally and internationally, and the culture to which it is indebted. The Mission Statement now reads as follows:
The mission of The Chicago School for Piano Technology is to foster the next generations of piano technicians by providing complete foundation skills for those aspiring to enter into the life-long task of mastering all of the technical aspects of the acoustic piano as a whole instrument, in order to serve the needs of the entire musical community--performers, music lovers, and those who love the piano for its intrinsic value as part of the arts culture.
- CSPT has introduced a new part of the curriculum into the overall School structure. It is called the Inter-Term, and will run between the 1st and 2nd quarters from the last week of November until just before the December holidays. The purpose of the Inter-Term is to create a period of structured practice time for students who have completed the first quarter and who have just been introduced to tuning the temperament, as well as a variety of technical skills. It will be a required part of the curriculum, and details will be outlined both in the Basic Curriculum pages as well as in the Student Handbook.
- Through the kindness of the author, the required book The Wonders of the Piano: The Anatomy of the Instrument by Catherine Bielefeldt is now available gratis from CSPT when an applicant has completed the Enrollment Agreement.
- For anyone interested in the Advanced Curriculum, Rebuilding option, we currently have one client piano available for restoration by a student. Consider the advantages! For more information on that course structure, go to Advanced Curriculum.
